digg and images and web 2005 Sep 2007 03:54 pm

For those of you have haven’t heard, someone just came up with something called Digpicz. What is this, you ask? Well, it’s an elegantly designed, simple website that displays newly popular Digg submissions related to images. What makes this so neat? Well, Diggers (as evidenced by how fast Digpicz hit the Digg front page!) have been wanting an image section for a while. Now they have it! Anyway, this isn’t new news anymore, but you should check out the site of the Digpicz creator who is currently working on an even more amazing pics aggregator!

This looks similar to the image functionality on Plime.com.

    Hey suxmonkey (digg screen name),

Thanks for posting my page to digg. I am already working on popurls like picture site and writing how I am doing it.

Hope to get it done by Sunday.

The blog post is a two part article and I will release first part till saturday and the 2nd part on sunday right when I launch the site.

    Sincerely
    Peteris Krumins

It’s theoretically actually less functional - there is no voting on-site except that which ties back into Digg. Maybe down the line he’ll add a ‘popular’ page or other ways to organize the information - for now it’s a stream of the front-paged articles revolving around images ;)

Ahhhh somehow I posted my own response comment before I approved Peteris’ comment and now it’s all confuzzled. Anywho, Peteris: can’t wait for the new release and my only regret is that you didn’t get front-paged last time - your efforts warrant it without a doubt! This time we will get you there for sure :)
